If I Only Had A Blog

I could while away the hours, conferrin with the flowers, consultin with the logs. And my head I'd be scratchin while my thoughts were busy hatchin if I only had a blog. I'd unravel every riddle for any individ'le in trouble or in fog. With the thoughts I'd be thinkin, I could be another Lincoln if I only had a blog. I would not be just a nuffin, my head all full of stuffin, my heart all full of smog. I would dance and be merry; life would be a ding-a-derry if I only had a blog.

summertime is for rides

Tonight, in an incredible feat of triple-dating, Erica & Kevin, Jenna & Jeremy and Ben & I ate an entire octopus. We also consumed two bottles of wine, a 6er of Red Stripe, two small pizzas and an order of super garlicky bruschetta. And THEN we went to a little carnival at Lane Tech high school, and we ate cotton candy, and we rode on the crazy ride that goes back and forth, and a ride that was lying down in fake hangliders, and a mini giant drop. The mini giant drop was also FREE, because they shut down the ticket booth, but Jeremy convinced me to ask the guy, and he waived us on. For the price of one Coke. Here is my impression of me on the Giant Drop ride, as it slowly rose up and then plummetted down:

"Oh boy.. oh boy. Ohhh, shit. Ohh shit. Shit. Oh fuck. Ohh fuck. Ahhhh! Ahhh! Ahhh. Shit!! Ahh! Ahhh God! Oh no! Ah shit. Awww, fuck! Fuck! Ahh!! Ahh ha ha ha ha! Ah ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaa fuck! Aahh! Ahh!! AAAh!! AaaaaAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIEEEEE! AAAAAAAAAIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE! AAAAAAAAAIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! AHH! AHHH!! AAAAAAAAH!!!!"

It was fucking fabulous.

Go go go

Last weekend was good.... Spend Friday night with Meredith, hearing Tom's band at the Hideout, dinner at Silver Palm, met more friends for drinks at Happy Village. Saturday subbed classes, lunched with Erica, went to Steve & Barry's in the suburbs with the M's, biked up to Lula for a nice long outdoor meal with Ben, played Boggle at Whirlaway. Sunday we got breakfast at Vella Cafe (a new place to love! Yes!!), read and watched baseball in Wicker Park, biked to some grocery stores and had some friends over for a last minute cookout. It was a beautiful weekend with lots of time outside.

Then there was a rainy week of regular stuff....

And this weekend I'm going to an organic farm in Michigan! Last minute road trip with Tom. He worked there many summers, so we're gonna go and help out and go to the farmer's market and eat yummy organic things. I'm psyched. Ben's busy with video shoots all weekend... he is starting to get a lot of work which is very exciting. As my friend Emily said, it's always good to do the kinds of things that make you feel more like yourself; I have high hopes that this weekend will make me More Lindsay.
